Studio service terms
These terms cover paid mix and mastering work. They should be added to iairecords.com/terms or linked from the booking page. They are not legal advice — have them reviewed if you want a lawyer’s version.
1. What you are buying
A mix and/or mastering service for a fee. This is not a recording contract, publishing contract, or exclusive artist deal with iAi Records. The long-form Copyright & Ownership Agreement and Mutual NDA are part of these terms.
2. What you keep
You keep the composition and the sound recording you submitted, plus your publishing. On full payment, iAi assigns to you any rights it might have in the delivered mix/master files. Assignment runs engineer → client, never client → iAi. You confirm you own or have licensed every sound, sample, vocal, and AI-generated element you send.
3. Credit
Unless you opt out in writing: “Mixed by Italo Savaglio / iAi Records” and/or “Mastered by Italo Savaglio at iAi Records — PhantomFocus System.”
4. Payment and schedule
50% deposit starts the job. Balance is due before final files are released. Turnaround starts when (a) files pass File Prep and (b) the deposit has cleared. Standard turnaround is 5–7 business days for mastering and 7–10 for mix or mix + master. Rush 48-hour is +40% and is only available if the calendar can take it.
5. Revisions
Two revision rounds are included. A revision is notes on balance, tone, loudness, or a fade. New stems, a new arrangement, a new song version, or a change that requires rebuilding the session is a new job, quoted separately. Extra revision rounds are $40 each.
6. Cancellation
Cancel before work starts: deposit refunded minus $25 admin. After work starts: deposit is kept. Finished files are not delivered until the balance is paid.
7. Files
Do not email WAV/AIFF attachments. Use a transfer link. Session files are kept for 90 days after delivery, then deleted. We do not archive your original stems unless you ask in writing.
8. No outcome promises
Mix and mastering are craft services. iAi Records does not guarantee playlist placement, chart position, streams, radio play, or commercial success.
9. Label relationship
Booking a mix or master does not sign you to iAi Records. A label deal, if any, is a separate document.
Tracking addendum
Newly recorded performances in an iAi tracking session are the Client’s sound recording upon full payment. The same assignment-on-payment rule as mix/master applies. The Mutual NDA covers the session, takes, lyrics, and unpublished titles. DAW session files stay with iAi unless purchased separately.
