Required before a session starts

Clean files are half the mix. Sessions that follow these rules start on time and use the revision rounds on music, not on detective work.

Do not email WAV or AIFF attachments. Upload to WeTransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive, or Filepass and paste the link on the booking form. WordPress will reject a 24-bit session.
For a mix

Stems / multitracks

  • WAV or AIFF only. 24-bit, native sample rate. Never MP3, never M4A.
  • One file per track. All files start at bar 1 / 0:00. Same length. Include tails and reverb decay.
  • No master-bus limiter, clipper, or maximizer.
  • Do not normalize. Peaks around −6 to −3 dBFS.
  • Print only FX that are part of the sound (amp sims, vocal delays you love). Send a dry vocal too if you are unsure.
  • Name files like Artist_Song_01_Kick.wav — not Audio 14.wav.
  • Include a rough mix bounce and 1–3 reference tracks (links or files).
  • Write BPM, key, and DAW in the form.
For a master

Stereo premaster

  • Stereo WAV or AIFF, 24-bit, native sample rate.
  • Leave 3–6 dB of headroom. Ideal peaks −6 to −3 dBFS.
  • True peak under −1 dBTP if you already limited. Better: send unlimited + limited.
  • No fade-out, no top-and-tail. We will handle starts and ends.
  • One second of silence at the top is fine. Ten seconds is not.
  • If this is an EP or album, number the files in sequence and include gap / crossfade notes.
  • ISRC codes if you already have them. If not, leave blank.
  • Tell us the target: streaming, vinyl, DJ/club, CD/DDP.

Files that start at different times

What we will bounce back

A session that is unlabeled, clipped, limited on the mix bus, or delivered as MP3. Clock does not start until files pass this page and the deposit clears.

What a revision is

Balance, tone, length of a fade, vocal level. A new arrangement, new stems, or a rewritten section is a new session, not a revision.

Ownership

You keep 100% of the recording, masters, and publishing. iAi Records is hired for mix/master work only unless a separate label agreement is signed.
